FILM FESTIVAL!


The Annual Paradise Theatre Film Festival is surrounded around hidden gems this year. The film lineup represents movies from a variety of genres and appropriate for a wide range of audiences.  These are wonderful films that you might not be familiar with but just may become some of your favorites!  Also, local artist, Keith Raivo, will show a film each day documenting a recent art project and be on hand to explain the creative process.  ADMISSION IS FREE and some hearty food options have been added to the concession menu for the event.

Starting Friday, April 29th, The Boss. A titan of industry is sent to prison after she’s caught insider trading. When she emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart, not everyone she screwed over is so quick to forgive and forget. Rated R. Starting Friday, May 6th, The Jungle Book. The man-cub Mowgli flees the jungle after a threat from the tiger Shere Khan. Guided by Bagheera the panther and the bear Baloo, Mowgli embarks on a journey of self-discovery, though he also meets creatures who don’t have his best interests at heart. Rated PG. Showtimes at 7 PM on Weeknights.  4 PM & 7 PM on Weekends.


FREE MONDAY MATINEES


An American in Paris

Starting at 12:30 PM on Monday, May 2nd, An American in Paris. Three friends struggle to find work in Paris. Things become more complicated when two of them fall in love with the same woman. This film is Passed.

 

On the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, the Paradise shows a free matinee at 12:30. These have become a popular part of movie experience at the Paradise and are sponsored by ECRAC.

Starting at 1:00 PM on Sunday, May 1st, Rabbit Proof Fence. In 1931, three aboriginal girls escape after being plucked from their homes to be trained as domestic staff and set off on a trek across the Outback. This film PG.

 Free Film Series committee

Anyone interested in being part of the Free Film Series committee, which is responsible for choosing all movies for each of the different series, is welcome! It’s fun to be part of this aspect of movies at the Paradise! Please leave a message for Eric Carlisle at the concession counter, or call the Paradise at 320-679-3964 with message if you are interested.

The series are:

Kids matinee’s – once a month during school year, every Wednesday matinee all summer

Independent/foreign films – once a month the 1st. Saturday of each month

Classic Monday Matinee’s – 1st & 3rd. Monday of each month at 12:30, movies for everyone

Annual children’s Holiday movies – Between Thanksgiving & Christmas each Saturday & Sunday matinee’s

Summer Outdoor Movies – once a month on Saturday’s during summer months
